Wallasey Athletic Club defeated Dunlop H. & A.C. last Thursday evening at Speke by 57 points to 36, thus avenging their narrow defeat at Leasowe in June.
The following Wallasey athletes won their events:-Penny Price ran strongly to take the women's 100 yds. and long jump (15ft. 3ins). W.A.C. juniors won both their events. Trevor Prydderch taking the 100 yds. in 11.2 secs. and Robin Hughes the long jump (16ft. 4ins.).

The Cheshire County PentathIon competition was held in pooring rain at Northwich last Saturday when 3 of the 10 senior competitors were W.A.C. men. The best of the Wallasey men was Ray Owen in sixth place with a total of 1,856 points. The winner, W. A. Pearce of Manchester University, gained 2,230 points.
In a recent Lancashire and Cheshire league match, Wallasey Athletic Club weight lifters were beaten by Manchester by the narrow margin of 38 lbs., and scored a walk over against Crewe who failed to compete.
All club members are reminded that the club track and field championships and the Brookes award competition for junior men will be held at the Leasowe Road playing fields on Saturday, August 27, when the award of club championship medals for the past year will be made.
