Wallasey Athletic Club runners achieved five personal bests at Stretford last weekend when competing against six other clubs.
In the boys' age group Mark Tunstall ran 800 metres
in 2m 20.8secs and followed that up with a personal best of 1,500 metres in 4m 58.3.
Dave Ashton, the only senior competing, came third in the 100 metres with a time of 11.9 and ran a very fine 400 metres in 52.5. A very encouraging personal best for Dave.
In the youths' section, R. Murtagh ran a 200 metres second place with 26.2 and produced a personal best of 2m 12.1 secs. in the 800 metres.
Pete Jones came third in the 100 metres in 12.9 and second in the 200 metres in 26.1, while John Lane clocked 13.5 and 26.8 for the same events. K. McKinnon ran 200 metres in 27.0.
The 400 metres produced two personal bests from John Lane in 58.6 and K. McKinnon in 60.0. Pete Jones was third in this race with 57.6.
Keith Sorrel, who ran against Olympic runner Brian Green the week before last, came second with a time of 11.2.
