Rick Hemmings, running in the youths' 1500m. Recorded a PB in a time of 4:25.6 to finish a close second to the eventual winner. Just over an hour later, he ran equally well to finish second in the seniors' 3000m in a time of 9:41.
Ian Mcleod, running in the boys' 100m and 200m, continues to improve his track performances by recording a time in the 200m of 25.2 seconds.
Other PBs were recorded by Joanna McDonald, 800m in 2mins 23.2 secs. and Lynne Jenkinson, 800m in 2mins. 23.2 secs. For the colts Mark Wigfield returned a PB in the 200m of 30.4 secs. Philip D'Arcy ran a PB in the 800m of 2 mins. 29.2 secs. and Stephen D'Arcy continues to improve his 200m time by a PB of 30.2 secs.
During this meeting a number of new members tried out in race conditions for the first time, Sandra Cant and Theodora Lindop, the junior girls, formed, a scratch relay with two other junior girl athletes to run in the 4x100m relay in a time of 57.4. Another newcomer to the club Chris Hodge, ran in the 100m for the colts in a time of 16.9. Other young members turned in creditable performances, as did all team members on a very hot and sticky afternoon.
