Marie Henry of Wallasey A.C., with a time of 1.28.04, was the first lady over the line in the Redrow Ruthin half-marathon in a field of 260- 80 more than last year.
Brian Beecroft of Wirral A.C. was second in the men's event with 1.12.44.
On one of the hottest days of the year, no course records were broken in this event, organised by Prestatyn Running Club and sponsored for the fourth time by the Clwyd-based construction group, Redrow. Entrants had travelled to North Wales from all over the country, including Birmingham, Sheffield, London and Portsmouth.
Winner of the men's event was Steve Thomas of Flint Runners in a time of 1.12.31.
