Liverpool 10K - 9/10/2005

5 runners represented Wallasey in the Liverpool 10k, first home was Tony Barbat in 38:38, right behind him was Arthur Wilson in 39:23. John Rafftery was next in 40:19. Tracey Rimmer completed the course in 50:05 followed by Glyn Thornton in 53:24.

Macclesfield Half Marathon - 2/10/2005

Another race and more personal bests, this time for Anne Taylor-Kilbane in 01:51:40 and Rachel Saunders in 01:55:28, her first time under 2 hours after 2 very close attempts. Sue Barraclough completed an excellent run in 02:06:42.

Wirral Seaside Run - 24/8/2005

10 runners took part in the seaside run, Mike Stanley chalked up another victory going under 16 minutes (15:58). A great run from Matt Williams of 17:56, was his first under 18 minutes. A remarkable run from youngster Joe McGee saw him finish in 18:16. Other results are as follows :-

Hoylake 10k - 11/9/2005

10 runners joined a field of 370 for the Hoylake 10k, first male home was Mike Stanley in an impressive time of 35:30, Anne Taylor-Kilbain ran an excellent race to finish in 46:09. Other results are as follows :-

Great North Run - 18/9/2005

Jane Vick flew the flag for Wallasey in the Great North Run coming home in 02:03:54. more than 13 minutes faster than last year and a personal best.

Wirral Seaside Run 20/7/2005

On a sunny evening 110 runners took part in the race and Wallasey were out in force, Mike Stanley was 3rd in 15:56, next in was Jamie Pullin 6th in 16:51 followed by a solid performance by Matt Williams 10th in 18:16. Connor McArdle ran well for 14th in 18:32 and Phil Bird was 15th in 18:36. Dave Walton was 20th in 18:49 and Greg Jones 28th in 19:20. Stan Williams had his best run for some time and finished 43rd in seaside pb of 20:39. Dave Godwin attained 59th in 21:23 with Pete Lonsdale not far behind, 63rd in 21:35. Nicci Davies was 77th (9th lady) with a time of 22:34. Dermot Ferguson finished 102nd in 24:50.

Penny Lane Striders 10K & Horwich Road Race Carnival (5k) - 26/06/2005

Wallasey runners were present at both venues, Mike Stanley (35th in 16:32) and John Cottrell (103rd in 18:44)  ran in the BMAF Road Race Championships at Horwich and Tony Barbat (101st in 18:07) competed in the North of England AA Road Race Championships also at Horwich.

6 Wallasey runners among an entry of 395 ran the Penny Lane Striders 10K, first home was Jamie Pullin in an excellent 24th place in a time of 36:42 and a good run from John Rafftery 45th in 39:04, Arthur Wilson 59th in 39:39, Dave Godwin 163rd in 45:58, Rachel Saunders 245th in 49:34 and Sue Barraclough 259th in 50:32

Wirral Seaside Run 22/06/2005

142 runners entered race 8 from Wallasey, Jamie Pullin had an excellent race finishing 6th in 16:55 followed by Tony Barbat 9th in 17:22. Keith McLaughlin had a consolidating performance 13th in 17:54, shortly followed by Matt Williams 14th in 18:13. Stan Williams was 58th in 21:30 and Pete Lonsdale 61st in 21:46 Sue Jones was 76th (13th lady) in 23:24 and Nicci Davies retired with a sore calf.

Birkenhead Park 5 miles 10/06/2005

A sunny evening greeted several runners from Wallasey for the Birkenhead Park 5 mile race. Mike Stanley completed the course in 26:27 for 10th place, other finishers were John Cottrell (29:50), Pete Lonsdale (36:28), Nicci Davies (36:44).  Slideshow here.
