For the opening run of the Liverpool & District Cross-Country season there was a muster of 81 runners at the Gateacre headquarters of Liverpool Harriers last Saturday. Wallasey A.C. with 14 members out provided the second largest contingent of the eight clubs represented.

Wallasey v. Wirral
Wallasey finished 15 points behind the Wirral A.C. on Saturday after a 51/2 mile cross-country run over the most difficult ground the club has yet encountered. W. Richardson (captain), N. Marples, S. K. Westmore, were absent from the Wallasey team whereas Wirral were at full strength and had with them the national champion, Emery.

Last Saturday the Wallasey Athletic Club Novice Championship was held over the short 51/2 course. There were nine starters, those eligible to compete being confined to runners who had not, previous to this season, won a place in a race of any sort since leaving school.
