150 runners in Wallasey race
Wallasey A.C. were hosts to all the Merseyside clubs last Saturday and a total of one hundred and fifty three runners were seen to be starting out from club headquarters. The course crossed Leasowe Road into Telegraph Lane and down to the shore.

Last Saturday Wallasey ran 'Six’ Liverpool miles at Woolton. The club lost this match scoring 123 points to Liverpool’s 58 and Wirral. First man home was Jeffs of Wirral in 45 minutes 27 seconds.

Seven Wallasey Club competitors were in the Waterloo road race last Saturday and all finished the course. Over 150 runners started and ran 61/4 miles.

Ron Barlow's race success
Last Saturday at Leyland, Ron Barlow of Wallasey won the youth’s race in the H. S. Finney Trophy meeting. Following him were D. White 7th and P. Townsend 17th. In the boy’s race Morris was 5th, Edwards 9th, and Davies 11th. This is a gratifying result.

Last Saturday a friendly match was held between Port Sunlight A.C. and Wallasey. Barlow of Wallasey won comfortably and was closely followed by his team mates to make an overall victory for Wallasey.

The results of the Cheshire Championships run at Hyde, last Saturday, were gratifying for the club. Ron Barlow won the youth’s race and the youths came second in the team placings.

The Liverpool & District Cross-Country Championships were ran last Saturday at Port Sunlight. Once again the youths team ran well and justified themselves to gain 3rd team place.

Mud up to the ankles and slippery conditions prevailed throughout the whole course at Parliament Hill Fields last Saturday. Severe rain completely washed out any attempt at speed and ‘slog’ was the order of the day.
