The first Liverpool and District Mob Run took place on October 21, at Woolton Woods. Brian Woolford proved he is a force to be reckoned over the country as well as on the road by taking the lead early in the race and going on to win comfortably in 28 minute 42 seconds.

Any hopes the club had of being placed in the Ham Finney Trophy race last week were dashed when two members were unable to turn out because of illness. Nevertheless Bob McCaig and Ramsey Hewson volunteered to complete the team which eventually placed sixth out of fourteen teams.
