Runners fast times over Welsh coast
Of the twelve runners who took part in the weekend camp at Foel Glap Farm (Denbigh), six returned personal best times for the 3 mile hill course, three who were running this route for the first time recorded good times, whilst the remaining three were within 15 seconds of their best.

Running in the first inter-club cross-country race of the season, Dave Lockley had no trouble in winning over, a three-mile course in which a field of 29 runners faced conditions as hard as can be expected for the rest of the winter.

Ron Barlow Does Fastest Time
Ron Barlow who ran the second leg for Wallasey Athletic' Club in the Sefton Park road relays held last Saturday, was only five seconds slower than the course record, the distance being over 31/4 miles. This performance by Barlow assisted the team attaining fifth position in the championships.

Ron Barlow beats race field of 86
Ron Barlow for the second week in succession, beat the best on Merseyside from a field of 86 ,to win the .first. Liverpool and District League Race at Woolton over a five mile course last Saturday. His time of 29 mins. 1 sec. over this course shows that Barlow is heading for National honours again this year.

On Wednesday, November 17,Wallasey Athletic Club took part in the Waterloo Road Relay Festival, during which Ron Barlow ran incredibly well to do a faster time for the two mile leg than the Bolton Harriers and English international runner, Ron Hill. Barlow’s time of 9 mins.

Running with comparative ease over the 7-mile cross-country course which Cheshire County laid out at Woodbank Park, Stockport last Saturday, Wallasey's Ron Barlow ran away from the rest of the 76 starters and left his immediate challenger, M. Cranny (Wirral A.C.) over 200 yards in his wake.

In recognition of the high standard of running that Ron Barlow has attained "over the country" this winter, he bas bee rewarded with a trip to Chartre (near Paris) this week-end, when in company with E. Storey (Bristol), T. Brialt (London), and M. Batty (Thurrock), he competes tomorrow in an international race of approximately six miles.

Lockley 18th in run for Northern boys' title
Dave Lockley of Wallasey Athletic Club finished 18th in the individual race for the Boys' Northern Counties Championship last Saturday. Although it was expected that Lockley would finish higher in the final placings, this was an excellent performance, as there was six inches of snow and slush on this testing hilly course.

Wallasey Athletic Club send three teams to Warrington today for the annual relays held in Victoria Park. In a four-man team each runner completes a 1-mile lap of grassland before handing over, and the club have one team entered in the, youths' race and two teams in the boys' event.

Two time trials were held by Wallasey Athletic Club at Lingham Park last Saturday over the one-mile and two-mile distances. In the two-mile race Dave Lockley ran with clockwork regularity and paced the leading group through five quarter-mile laps, each in exactly 75 seconds.

In perfect running conditions, Wallasey Athletic Club competed at Warrington in an inter-club fixture. The best performance of the meeting was that of Dave Lockley who won the youths' 1,000 metres Steeplechase in a personal best time of 2 mins. 49.2 secs.
