Wallasey Athletic Club finished 10th in the Sefton Park Road Relay championships on Saturday. Liverpool Harriers took the lead at the second stage and went on to win the event by a comfortable margin.

Barbara comes back to win
At a closely contested inter-club athletic meeting at the weekend, Barbara Banks scored her first victory since her six month absence from competitive running. Over the fast two-mile course Barbara led from the start with C. Helsby (Stretford A.C.) and Liz Connor (Preston A.C.) in second and third places.

Athletic club’s good place in National relay
Wallasey Athletic Club had four teams competing in the National Road Relays at Bradford this weekend. It was the largest entry ever from the club and the best performances came from the senior teams, who finished in 13th place out of a field of 50 teams.

Sylvia Brimage kept up her fine record for the weekend in the Rossendale Shield Race. The club's women's team finished third after a close competition in which Stoke A.C. won with 45 points, Stretford A.C. were runners-up with 51 points Wallasey got 54.
