New Brighton hill work for athletes
Wallasey Athletic Club are still training five times a week. You may have seen them. On Monday evening we travel as a club from St. George's middle school, Leasowe Road, to a well known hill in New Brighton, which even some cars have trouble ascending, this being Portland Street.

Athletic club is building up
The was more going on on Saturday 15th than the reported league meeting. Four Wallasey Athletic Club members were competing at Warrington in an inter schools league meeting. They were Tommy Bond, who finished 57th , Dave Southern 58th, Stuart Crowe 88th; and Keith McAlister 91st. They all ran quite well to finish as they did out of the 150 starters.

Fast times by local runners
Wallasey Athletic Club provided the fastest youth of the day in the H.S. Finney cross-country relays last Saturday at Clarkes Garden, Liverpool. The course, supposedly over a 11/4 mile lap, but more like a 21/4 mile lap was particularly heavy going in parts and confusing to follow, writes D.H.
