Len Platt, Wallasey Athletic Club's star athlete, receives the Blair Trophy from Mr. S. Lubbock chairman of the Liverpool & District Committee of the Northern Counties A.A., at the club's headquarters on Wednesday.
Platt is the first recipient of the cup, awarded for the best performance by any athlete in the Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales area.
Platt won the N. Counties' championship with a 23ft. 6in. long jump, and on the same day took the hop, step and jump title, the Inter-Counties long jump, and the Cheshire long jump, high jump, and hop, step and jump, in addition to two fine performances in international events.
After saying how proud he was to be the first winner trophy Len hoped thatWallasey A.C.'s promising athletes would ke Wallasey.
