Conditions over the usual course were so dangerous following the recent slight thaw and re-freeze that no attempt at competitive racing was made against Wirral A.C. in what should have been a return friendly fixture on Saturday.
There was, however, no point in going home once everyone had arrived, so the boys and youths ran over approximately three mile and the juniors and seniors over seven miles.
Today is the West Lancashire championship meeting at Dunlop's factory, Speke. Boys and youths should meet Liverpool Pier Head bookstall 1 p.m. Anyone else
travelling may join this party, or travel independently by 82D Corporation bus - direct to the factory gates.
Races start: boys 2:15 p.m.; youths 2:30; juniors 2:50 and seniors 3:30 p.m.
The course is different from those usually encountered in that it is a grassland with a small stretch of ploughed land.
As no stretches of road are included, runners will find spikes a big help.
