The Wallasey schoolboys team race and an individual cross-country race for youths, was held from the Wallasey Athletic Club, last Saturday.
The youth race over three miles started with 20 runners - an excellent entry for this event. The finish was in doubt up to the last ¼ mile when W. Hogarth, who was seriously challenging the eventual winner had to retire from the race. It is hoped by later in the season Hogarth will have recovered from the effects of his operation and will come to the fore in cross-country as in previous years.

Apart from last year, Moreton have now held the trophy each year since it's inception.
The Mayor (Alderman - J. P. Ashton), presented the medals and trophies, congratulating the winners and thanking the officials who helped make the afternoon a success.
It is interesting to note that the first seven finishers in the youth race and the first schoolboy home, are all members of Wallasey Athletic Club, although three youths were running in W.G.S. colours. Any schoolboy or youth who would like to further their interests in cross-country will be welcomed at the club this afternoon or can obtain further details from R. Wooley, 8 Bradman Road, Moreton.
