Last Saturday two of W.A.C.'s foremost athletes competed for Cheshire, in the first athletic track meeting to be held this year. This was a three cornered meeting between Derbyshire, the Christie Club, and Cheshire, held at Manchester.
Carl W. Gee and Mathew Smith were the two chosen to compete for Cheshire, Carl doing extremely well in the shot and discus, being placed 3rd and 4th respectively - both positions gaining points for Cheshire.
Mathew Smith also gained points for Cheshire by being placed third in the high jump, Mathew who over the past few years has been unable to hold himself to a proper training schedule due to business difficulties, seems to be starting this year off in great form.
The result of this meeting was a win for the Christie Club with Cheshire second and Derbyshire third.
