Wallasey Athletic Club are holding their annual club championships next Monday and Wednesday.
The programme of events is as follows:-
Monday. Senior and junior 100 yards, shot, 880 yards, high jump, pole vault and six miles; youths, boys and womens' 100 yards, 880 yards and shot.
Wednesday. Senior and junior 440 yards, javelin, 220 yards hurdles, three miles; youths, boys and womens' 440 yards and javelin.
The championships will start at 7-15 p.m. prompt on both evenings and are due to finish with the six miles or three miles at 8-30 p.m. on the respective evenings.
Once again the club appeal for officials. Mr. Carl Gee will be very pleased to hear from anybody as soon as possible, to enable him to allocate officials to the various events.
Training tickets are now available for the Lingham Park running track, and may be obtained free of charge from Mr. Ron Hubbard, 42 Tollemache Street, New Brighton.
The closing date for entries in the Liverpool Police Open Sports, to be held at Prescot Road, Fairfield, is July 2, 1956.
Colin Harris, the secretary of the cross-country section, left on Wednesday for his national service in the R.A.F.
He was a conscientious secretary and his services will be missed.
