Wallasey Athletic Club had outstanding success at the Liverpool & District Cross-Country Championships at Wavertree last Saturday, winning their junior team title and also taking individual honours, while John Wright was runner-up in the seniors, the first man home being Ronnie Williams of Pembroke.
Wright gained the first unplaced medal.

Seniors, (six miles) Lewis's Cup - Team placings: 1, Pembroke A. and C.C. (1-4-5-6-8-9) 33 points 2, Sutton Harriers and A.C. 133; 3 Liverpool Harriers and A.C., 139; 4, Sefton Harriers, 188; 5, Wirral A.C. 227; 6, Waterloo Harriers and A.C. 309. Juniors (four and a half miles) Whitty Shield - team placings: 1, Wallasey A.C., (1-7-8-10). 26 points; 2, Pembroke A. and C.C. 41: 3, Wirral A.C., 55: 4, L.H.A.C. 50; 5, Sefton H. 105. Individual placings: 1, Ronnie Barlow (Wallasey), 23 mins. 7 secs. 2, Brian Fozzard (Sefton H.): 3, A. Caldwell (Pembroke). First unplaced medal; B. Fozzard (Sefton).
