The first Liverpool & District Mob Run took place on October 21, at Woolton Woods. Brian Woolford proved he is a force to be reckoned over the country as well as on the road by taking the lead early in the race and going on to win comfortably in 28 minute 42 seconds.
Kevin Mather also ran well to finish 7th followed by Ron Barlow in 20th position.
The winning team was Pembroke with 71 pts., second was Liverpool (121 pts.), third Liverpool University (209 pts) fourth Sutton (212 pts.), and fifth Wallasey (226 pts.).
Eleven clubs finished. On the preceding Friday night the annual general meeting was held at Club H.Q.
