Wallasey Athletic Club are today competing in the West Lancashire cross-country championships and will enter three teams - boys, youths and seniors.
Team selection will be made on the basis and positions in the Liverpool & District championships held only a short time ago.
In these West Lancashire championships the best hopes must lie with the boys' team who have won so many championships already this season. Although Johnny Jones will not be able to compete until the Northern championships as he is only in light training now that his leg is out of plaster, we hope that the boys' team will bring back this championship to Wallasey.
Next Saturday, Wallasey A.C. have entered a team in the famous Rhyl to St. Asaph Road Race. This will be extremely interesting as Ron Barlow will be endeavouring to repeat his fine performance of winning this event 12 months ago, and our vastly improved senior team will try to better their already high position in the Northern cross-country teams.
