Wallasey A.C. are always rushing about from place to place competing in all types of events. The cross-country season is now behind us and we are locking forward to an extended track season because competitions have started about a month earlier due to the new Merseyside Track and Field League.
The idea of his league was one of Carl Gee's, the club coach, who is for this year the acting secretary.
It is hoped that next season these leagues will be on a national basis, the winners from each area competing in a grand final match to find the best teams in the country.
The second in the series of meetings was held in what could only be described as perfect conditions at Kirkby Stadium on Saturday. Wallasey A.C. managed to tie for 1st place with Liverpool Harriers - 114 points each. Wallasey athletes scored as below:-
