Wallasey Athletic Club visited Oldham last Saturday and satisfying successes in a good class Inter-club match,
Barbara Banks continued her unbeaten run in the 880 yards by showing the rest of the field the way home in the ladies' event in 2m 22.1s.
Another of Wallasey's women Phyllis Edwards, won he ladies' shot putt with 31 ft 11 ins., youth Pete Watson, won the long jump with a fine 19 ft 2½ ins and was placed 3rd in the 220 yards race in 25.4s.
Ian Wilson won the junior 440 yards in an unpressed 52.5s.
Yet another first for Wallasey was provided by Mike Teahan in the senior 440 yards which he won in 53.4s.

In the junior A.A.A. Championships at Wolverhampton, Dave Lockley ran well for 6th place in the National junior steeplechase final, in 5 min. 56.6s, a time which puts him on the national ranking lists.
Johnny Jones covered a mile faster than ever before in his heat, but narrowly failed to qualify in a time of 4m 22.5s.
