Manchester A.C. won the event with 240 points after Wallasey had been lying a comfortable third for most of the afternoon.
Phil Holmes and Carl Gee got the club of to a hopeful start in the 'A' and 'B' hammer events, while John Rowlands performed well in his first outing of the season in the long jump, clearing 20ft. 2ins.
Andy Fulton threw a personal best of 150 feet in the javelin for third place, while the two high jumpers, Brian McGrath and Ray Ellis, cleared 1 metre 70 cms. and 1 metre 55 cms. Respectively for second and third places.
