Wallasey Athletic Club is ready once again to cater for all ages and classes ranging from those who like a gentle saunter over a few miles of country for their weekly exercise to the hardiest racing enthusiast.
At the annual meeting last Wednesday, Mr. A. G. Nicholson was re-elected president, and R. F. Hubbard, hon. secretary, and John Edwards, captain, were also re-elected. George Mason carries on as hon. treasurer, whilst J. M. Rimmer moves from the ordinary committee to assist hon. secretary, B. O. Kivlin runner-up in two Northern Championships continues as hon. track secretary and G. K. Andrew, T. K. Murdock snr. and J. A. Richardson, were newly elected members of the club committee.
A very old member and supporter, Mr. E. W. Bardsley, was elected a vice-president, along with that extremely popular captain of a decade ago Mr. W. R. Richardson. Sub-captains for the forthcoming year are Senior, J. S. Arkless, Junior, H. Lata and Youths, A. Simpson.
