On Mr. A. G. Nicholson, president of Wallasey Athletic Club and also of the West Lancashire Cross-Country Association, was conferred the high honour of President of the Northern Cross-Country Association at York last Saturday, an office to which he was first elected in 1914 and which he has held on four occasions since.
To mark the end of the cross-country season Wallasey Athletic Club held a social evening for members and friends at the Sandrock Hotel last Saturday.
Mr. W. R. Richardson, vice president of the club, and former triple champion of Wallasey, was chairman and he was accompanied by his wife and sister. Mr. Malcolm Daniels, entertainer, was there to add spice to the evening's enjoyment, and Mr. T. Tyrer, a former member of the club, on the piano, and Mr. J. P. Waters with his piano accordion, were greatly appreciated.
Mrs. Molyneux organised the whist drive, whilst Mr. T. Sullivan was dance M.C., with Mr. J. A. Richardson in charge of the popular table tennis tournament which was won by Mr. W. R. Richardson.
