Liverpool Harriers won comfortably in the third round of the Liverpool & District Cross-Country League at Arrowe Park. Richard Burney won in 31.54 with Jonny Mellor (32.04) not far behind in second.
Southport Waterloo's Rob Berry was fourth (32.22) and St Helens Sutton newcomer Danny Griffith, who had to compete as a guest runner, was fifth (33.31).Top 10 finishes were also secured by Liverpool Pembroke Sefton's Bernie Murphy (7th, 33.53), Wirral's John Hunt (8th, 34.09), Harrier's Luke Reddy (9th, 34.11) and Southport's Richard Shearer (10th, 34.14). Liverpool Harriers took the team honours on the day ahead of Wirral with Southport third. Southport's performance confirmed their promotion back up to Division One next season. The final league fixture is at Croxteth Park on February 10.
