On Sunday, Wallasey A.C. competed in the Cheshire League meeting at Colwyn Bay and once again Pete Jones ran another good race in the 800 metres.
In a fast race, Jones was pipped into 3rd place in a fast time of 2:01.2. In the same race, Bob Brimage had a good run, finishing close to Jones in fifth place in 2:03.
In the 'B' 800 metres Kevin McGee ran a great race to come first in a good time of 2:02.7, showing Wallasey's strength in this event. In the senior javelin, Bob Brimage put in another good performance, winning with a long throw 41.23 metres. In the 'B' event, Doug Hanna came second with a good throw of 31.84 metres.
In the junior ladies 800 metres, Janet McGee ran another fine race coming second in very fast 2:29.5 just outside her best performance.
In the senior ladies 800 metres, Barbara Jones ran another great race, despite being one of the youngest athletes in the races, she ran well finishing second in 2:27.7.
Neil Tunstall, despite being unfit because of exam revision, ran well in both the 100 and 800 metres. In the 100 metres, Neil clocked a wonderful time of 12.2, finishing second and in the 800 metres he finished eighth in a very good 2:16.2. In the under 13 ladies 800 metres, Jennifer Jones ran a great race. Making her own pace, she won in 3:10.3.
