Alan Pennington, British Olympic Games and Oxford University star, and V. M. Russell, Liverpool & District title holder, are a strong entry for the one lap handicap event which will be
decided at the Wallasey Hospital Gala sports meeting at Central park, Wallasey, tomorrow night.
The one-mile event for the "Championship of Wallasey" has attracted a number of powerful runners including K. A. Westmore, the ex-U.A.U. champion, who won the event last year; R. C. Leach, the Cheshire mile champion in 1936; W. Davey, ex-junior cross-country champion and N. I. Marples, ex-youths' cross-country champion.
J. Perry, ex-N.C.A.A. junior champion, has entered for the pole vault event, and in the 10 laps race competitors will include D. G. Edgar (Irish champion), L. Mole (five miles Cheshire champion), and K. A. Westmore.
