Wallasey Athletic Club members had a good day at this year's Wirral Schools' Championships held in heavy conditions on their Arrowe Park course.
In the senior race for the A. G. Nicholson Trophy the Technical Grammar School's team was pipped into second place by Ellesmere Port Grammar School. In a field of over thirty, Bob Warburton showed great early season form with fourth place, and Tony Fair was fifth.

In the junior race for the William Weston Trophy over two miles, the Technical Grammar School was again second, to Wirral G.S., Steve Scully being first home in 7th place.
