Following his win in the first mob run Ron Barlow again showed form in winning the second run contested over a six-mile course from Boundary Harriers H.Q. at Old Roan last Saturday.
Brian Woolford also turned in a first-rate performance in finishing second, but in the absence of Brian Chalton, Wallasey A.C., were beaten in the team event by 66 to 80 points.
In the boys' and youth's race Wallasey had three runners, Peter Meldrum showed notable improvement in finishing 15th, just behind Dave Duncan in 12th place, while Frank Davis ran steadily to finish 22nd.
Next week Wallasey runners are engaged in the Waterloo Road Race which this year is being held over a slightly increased road course of seven and a half miles.
Today there will be a club run from headquarters starting at 3-15 p.m.
