The Cheshire County Cross-Country championships were held at Stockport.
Racing was very keen, J. F. Green, Wirral A.C.'s champion, ran a splendid race over the seven-mile course to win 37 min. 17 sec. Second, A. Gallagher (Stockport H.): third, A. Tyrer (Sutton H.), the veteran St. Helens athlete who retains his form wonderfully well. The team title was won by East Cheshire H., 47 points; 2nd, Wirral A.C., 65 points; 3rd, Sale H.., 109 points.
East Cheshire made is a double by winning the youth's championship with 31 points. Wirral A.C. were again runners-up with 40 points, with Macclesfield 60 points. First home, P. N. Frost (East Cheshire H.) in 20 min. 21 secs.
The following team was selected to represent Cheshire in the Inter-County Cross-Country Championships at Leicester on January 21: J. F. Green (Wirral A.C.), A. Callaghan (Stockport H.), A. Tyrer (Sutton H.), E. Bradbury (East Cheshire H.), G. Hall (Wirral A.C.), A. Smith (East Cheshire H.), J. Price (East Cheshire H.), A. Oldham (East Cheshire H.), A. Wilson (Sale H.)
