In the match last Saturday against Sefton and Warrington, Wallasey were placed second and completely justified themselves by taking second and third individual placings. Ron Barlow and Pete White being the respective runners.
The rest of the team were a little way behind and need to consolidate the gap between third placing eleventh placing. D. White was 11th, W. Farrell 14th, H. Pritchard 16th and J. Winrow 17th. Sefton scored 31 points, Wallasey 63, and Warrington 111. Wallasey finished eight men out of nine original starters, one having to drop out.
It is obvious that the best club runners must train in as near a pack formation as possible. Many think this would draw back the best runners, but this is not the case as they know their capabilities and also that of their equal rivals from other clubs.
This Saturday (October 27th) the club runs against Wirral and Liverpool Harriers at Woolton. Meet 1-30 p.m. at Liverpool Pierhead and proceed to Woolton buses at Castle Street. Numbers four or five to Woolton Tram Terminus.
