The Northern championships, held at Morecambe in the worst weather conditions ever, provided some good running and a good result for the Wallasey club.
R. Barlow, running against medical advice finished second in the youths' race, and the team scored 180 points which should put them in a good position in the official results. Tony Townsend finished 23rd (a very good result), and Dave White and Phil Townsend finished 71st and 84th respectively. The boys' race was run at the height of the blizzard, Morris and Young finishing well up.
In the junior race Daniels and McIvor finished 99th and 113th.
