In last Saturday's Cheshire championships, Wallasey came home with a good amount of medals, although there were no firsts.
The results were as follow: M. Price 2nd long jump: R, Owen 3rd discus; E. Bennett 3rd hop, step and jump; J. Wright 3rd 3 miles; C. Gee 3rd shot: P. White 4th 3 miles.
In last Tuesday's inter-club at Garston, C. Gee threw the best senior discus of the evening, 108ft. 10in., but was placed third as the event was combined with youths who threw the ladies' discus about 145ft. The programme at this meeting was marred by a chill wind and performances were well down.
The Radcliffe 21 was an extremely gruelling race for John Lynch and Frank Ledward. Frank dropped out at 10 miles and John finished 13th. He is to be congratulated on his good run, and no doubt he will continue to improve during the season. John's time was two hours 17 minutes 25 seconds, against the winners' two hours two minutes 53 secs.
Members should note the entries for the Liverpool Parks & Gardens meeting at Garston on the 18th June, closed to-day.
