The new method of deciding the Wallasey Athletic Club Championships has proved satisfactory from an entry point of view and most events have been well supported.

The Women's Section entered a team in the Southport open meeting on July 10th., H. Liversage and A. Shand in the Schoolgirls' 100 yds. scratch race of over 50 entries ran well to reach the final, Hilary winning the final in 13 secs. Anita also took part in the high jump and was beaten into 4th place with a jump of 4 ft. 4 ins. by a "fewer failures" decision. The Schoolgirls' relay, A. Shand, D. Lee, B. Worrel, and H. Liversage, running for the first time as a team reached the final, but the Women's team just failed to qualify in their event. Margaret Collings finished 2nd in the Long Jump scratch with a jump of 17 ft. 6 ins. and 3rd in the 100 yds. handicap. Ron Barlow also ran, and won the final of the Schoolboys' Open 880 yds.
