With the cancellation of the inter-club meeting at Wigan only a handful of Wallasey athletes have been involved in competition this week.
Of those athletes who did compete the most meritorious performance was by Bob Brimage on the Woodchurch track, when he defeated two strong Wirral AC middle distance runners over a 1,500 metre event recording a time of 4 mins. 15 secs.
From the ladies' section a competitive 800 metres turned out as more of a training for the Wallasey trio, Mary Caldwell returning home in front from her sister Margaret and young Llyn Carter.
Today is free from competition, but hard training will be continuing for the Cheshire championships at Sale next week.
