On Saturday last the annual cross-country match between the School and the Old Wallaseyans took place. The Old Boys gave the School a handicap of 1½ minutes start over the 3½ miles course.
The O.W's. were weakened by the absence of one or two of their usual team and the School scored an easy victory; the School scoring 28 points, the O.W's 50.
The individual placings were: 1, E. C. Foster (School), 20 mins. 32 secs. ; 2 T G. Peirson (School) , 20 34½; 3, N. I. Marples (O.W.), 20 41; 4, R. E. Smith (School), 20 45; 5, J. Edwards (O.W.), 21 25; equal 6, C. S. Coleman, G. B. Peltor, J. E. Coffee (School). 22 7; 9, A. P. R. Watson (O.W.), 22 16; 10, F. K. Broadhurst (School), 22 19; 11, G. M. Willan (School), 22 22; 12, D. Grisdale (O.W.).
The last match of the season was against Calday Grange Grammar School, at Caldy, on Wednesday. The School were again successful over a four and a quarter mile course. The result was (six a side counting) : Wallasey 29 points, Calday 55 points. Individual placings were: E. C. Foster and R. E. Smith (W.G.S.), equal 1st. time 26 mins. 40 secs.; N. Bygate (Calday), 3rd; K. Hughes (W.G.S.), 4th; T. G. Law (Calday), 5th; T. G. Peirson (W.G.S.) 6th; G. M. Willan (W.G.S.), 7th; J. Lee (Calday), 8th; J. E. Coffee. C. S. Coleman, and G. B. Peltor (W.G.S.), equal 9th; E. Serjeant (Calday), 12th.
