In view of the road relay race next week, Wallasey A.C. held their Consolation Handicap and Youth's Championship in conjunction over a 4½ miles road course at Leasowe last Saturday.
C. F. Peers scored a run-away win in the handicap with an amazing effort, rated as one of the slower men he returned third fastest actual time and won by some 150 yards. W. R. Richardson, the Club Captain, ran a fine race to gain 2nd place with R. Fishwick a close third. Fishwick, however, was the first youth (under 18) to finish and was awarded the Championship, E. A. Sawyer taking the third handicap prize. The latter runner, despite recent indisposition, was in good form and some fast running in the later stages enabled him to beat the luckless Whittingham by one second. W. P. Davey was out again and ran well from one of the back marks, but Grisdale, who was third in the Club Championship on the previous Saturday did not make much headway and recorded fifth fastest actual time. Edwards off scratch did the fastest time, finishing ninth.

The Liverpool & District C.C.U. are re-staging the road race around Sefton Park next Saturday. This is the race which was abandoned last October after a number of runners had taken the wrong route. The
total distance has now been increased approximately the marathon distance (26 miles 385 yards), which will be covered in relays by teams comprising eight runners.
