Last Saturday the club entertained Liverpool A.C., and alter a closely contested race the visitors emerged victorious by the narrow margin of. 13 points.
The home club have been singularly unfortunate in the matter of accidents this season and were again compelled to take he field with half their regular team absent.
Fortunately, several promising runners have emerged to fill the gap. K. Baird, who ran so well last week, was again prominent and led the field to within a few hundred yards of the finish, while T. B. Calveley, making his first appearance of the season, was never far behind the leaders.
In a fast finish on the Leasowe-road straight, however, the Wallasey pair just failed to hold a speedy Liverpool quartette and the visitors had the satisfaction of annexing the first four places.
The next five positions were all occupied by Wallasey runners, F. G. Ambrose, B. Morgan and F. K. Ledward arriving together some 200 yards behind the leading pack.
R. Young, 11th, completed Wallasey's first six, while H. Jones, showing improved form, forced Liverpool's last counting man into 13th place.
Recent heavy rain had made the going extremely heavy and the time was in consequence slow, 40mins. 30secs. being returned by the first man, E. Jones, of Liverpool, for the short six miles course.

Liverpool A.C . - 1, E. Jones; 2, F. Heath; 3, R. Georgerson ; 4, T. Hughes; 10, G. Harcombe ; 13, A. E. Jones.
Total, 33 points.
Wallasey A.C. - 5, T. B. Calveley; 6, K. Baird; 7, F. G. Ambrose; 8, B. Morgan; 9, F. K. Ledward; 11, R. Young. Total, 46 points.
To-day the Liverpool & District Cross-Country Union stages the first of its five miles road handicaps from the headquarters of Liverpool A.C.
Wallasey members not competing in the above handicap should support the practice run to be held from the Leasowe-road headquarters at 3-30 p.m.
The secretary, Mr. R. G. Hyde, 14 Cromer-drive, will be pleased to supply information re the club's activities.
