Last Saturday the club were hosts to Boundary Harriers and Wirral A.C., and a race was held over the full 7¼ miles course; W. A. Geddes, G. Crompton and J. Edwards taking out the trail.
The three clubs mustered some fifty runners between them, Wirral A.C. contributing nearly half of these, and a start was made at 3-40 p.m.
T. B. Calveley, who ran so well in the West Lancashire Novice Championship last week, was soon in the lead, closely followed by G. Jones, of Wirral, and L. Craine, of Boundary. The Wallasey man, having obtained a lead of some 30 yards over the marshes, never relaxed his grip on the race and had the satisfaction of registering his first individual win.
Wirral A.C. placed six men in the first 15 to win the team race from the home club by 16 points. The latter, however, amply revenged their early season defeat by Boundary H., who finished third, 17 points behind.
For Wallasey, B. Morgan, 6th, and F. K. Ledward, 8th, ran well, while K. Baird and L. Bell also finished in the first 12.
W. R. Richardson, 21st, completed the team, but after his long absence seems unable to produce his best form. Actually, Saturday's contest was the first occasion for two seasons that the club captain has lost a race over the home course.
Results as follows :-
Wirral A.C. - G. Jones, 2nd; F. Sutcliffe, 4th; L. Wynne, 5th; G. Dodd, 7th; B. Hale, 10th; J. Jordan, 15th. total, 43 points.
Wallasey A.C. - T. B. Calveley, 1st; B. Morgan, 6th; F. K. Ledward, 8th; K. Baird, 11th; L. Bell, 12th; W. R. Richardson, 21st. Total, 59 points.

To-day the club holds its popular Christmas handicap over the short four miles course. A good turn-out is expected.
