It will he welcome news to the many Wallasey sportsmen to learn that the Wallasey Harriers & Athletic Club, so well known in the past, has been re-established.
Among those who were formerly connected with this organisation and are now working hard to give the old club new life, may b mentioned Messrs. W. Brookes, Bank, Sep. Edgar, Cyril Richards, and Broomhead (now captain); all names familiar where track and field matters are discussed.
Last Saturday there was a large and enthusiastic muster at the club's headquarters, Harrison Hall, Harrison-drive, and a short run to Moreton and Leasowe was taken, in bracing weather, the return journey being by way of the shore.
It is the committee's desire to enlarge the club's membership, and, as the winter programme is undoubtedly full of real enjoyment they think that more would participate if people could only realise the benefits to be obtained; and the subscription is merely nominal.
The next run is fixed for today at 3-15 from Harrison-Hall, and if any readers with or without experience in cross-country running care to turn out as the club's guests, they will be welcome; and there will be no obligation to join.
Would all interested please write for further particulars to the hon. Secretary, J. Finnesey, 20 Gerard-road, Wallasey.
