The opening run of this club will take place from Thorndale Farm, Wallasey-road, at 3 p.m. on Saturday next, the 4th October, when it is hoped there will be a good muster of both old and new members.
The club's losses during the war have been severe, but now that we have returned to the piping days of peace everything points to a very successful re-establishment of the club in the interests of cross-country running and athletics generally in this district, and, it is hoped, a repetition of pre-war successes. The general meeting will be held during the coming week, arrangements for which will be announced later.
Any likely young men who have learnt the value of this sport during their Army career, and also those would-be footballers who find themselves "stranded'' this season on account of the shortage of playing pitches, are strongly recommended to take up cross-country running to keep themselves fit.
