Great disappointment was felt last week by Wirral A.C. having to cancel their fixture with Wallasey, Pembroke, and Liscard, Harriers at Wallasey.
The wretched weather no doubt hindered many from turning out. The pack numbered about 30, composed of 15 Wallasey, 10 Pembroke, and 5 Liscard members. The country was very heavy and at the finish the runners all showed traces of the gruelling time experienced.
The first bunch to arrive were P. Scott (Wallasey), A. McMaster (Wallasey), A. G. Scoins (Wallasey), W. Sablick (Pembroke), and H. M. Terry (Wallasey). From here, however, several took the wrong turning in the fog, coming up St. Hilary's Brow instead of Cliff-road, with the result that the team race had to be called off, though on the placings the result would have been a very easy win for Wallasey.
