Wallasey's fixture on Saturday last was a three-cornered run with Liverpool Harriers and Pembroke H. & A.C.
As neither of the Liverpool teams, however, were at full strength, they combined forces against the local team in a race of about seven miles.
A good trail was laid by G. H. Spence, who had several assistants. The result of the race was that Wallasey won by 8 points, thus maintaining their reputation of not being beaten once during the current season.
The placings were as follows:-
Wallasey A.C. - 1 T. J. Brookes, 3 F. L. Thornton, 6 R. J. Lowes, 7 C. H. Spence, 8 E. S. Bale - total 25.
Liverpool H. & Pembroke A.C. - 2 C. Millington, 4 M. Carrigan, 5 W. Sablick, 10 C. J. Russell, 12 W. White total 33.
To-day there is an ordinary run from headquarters at 3.30 p.m. sharp. Next week the club championships will be held. All members are requested to make a special effort to be present.
The Liverpool & District Cross-Country Championship will be held on Saturday, February 5th, at Bebington, when the club will make a bold bid to become junior champions.
