This club competed last Saturday in the Northern Counties Junior Cross-Country Championship at Haydock Park, together with 45 other clubs.
There was an aggregate total of 322 runners. Wallasey were not very fortunate, only securing 17th place. Bolton Harriers and Armley & Wortley tied for first place. There was also a run held from headquarters, when a small pack turned out and traversed about nine miles.
The Wright Cup, which was given to the man scoring the highest number of points in the Club Championship, in the Liverpool & District Championship and the Northern, has been won by T. J. Brookes with a total of 17 points out of 18. Brookes has run well this season, and richly deserves his prize. E. S. Bale was runner-up with 13 points, and F. L. Thornton, 12; and R. Young, 9; are third and fourth respectively.
