The annual general meeting of the above club was held at the Fairhaven Institute, Seaview-road, Liscard, on Friday last. The chair was taken by Mr. A. G. Nicholson, and there was a good attendance of members.
The Hon. Secretary and Treasurer read the balance sheet for the year ending September, 1910, which showed that the club's finances were in a very satisfactory condition. The election of officers was then proceeded with, and the following were elected President, Mr. F. C. O'Connell; Vice-presidents, Messrs. S. Bale, T. H. Blare, T. Garnett, J. P. Lee, and P. C. Spence; Captain, Mr. A. G. Nicholson; sub-captain, Mr. T. Brookes; Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, Mr. H. R. Scoins (Edale, Withens-lane, Liscard); Hon. Auditors, Messrs. J. J. Ewers and E. S. Bale; Committee, Messrs. J. D. Jones, R. J. Lowes, E. Plant, W. J. Pinfold, H. S. Mellander, F. L. Thornton, J. Turnbull, and R. Young; handicappers, Messrs, A. G. Nicholson and C. H. Spence.
The question of whist drives and dances was next considered, and the Secretary submitted a proposal to the effect that considering the popularity and success of the functions last year, that this year instead of holding two such events the club should hold three, one in October, one in December or early in January, and the other in March. This proposal was adopted, and arrangements left in the hands of the committee. The exact date of the first drive will be announced at an early date. The fixtures for the season were then discussed, and the Secretary intimated that dates had already been arranged with Liverpool, Sefton, Boundary, Ravenhead, West Cheshire, and Gordon Harriers.
It was decided to hold the opening run next Saturday, to be followed in the evening by a smoking concert (commencing about 7.30 p.m.
New members will be heartily welcomed at the club's headquarters (Fairhaven Institute). Entry forms and all other information may be obtained from the Hon. Secretary and Treasurer.
