The above club held their second run of the season last Saturday from headquarters (Fairhaven Institute, Seaview-road), when about two dozen runners turned out.
Included in the pack was Councillor S. S. Dawson, who has become an active member of the club. Mr. Dawson twenty years ago was one of the fastest runners, on the track, and he showed on Saturday that he still retains some of his old form. Owing to the absence of the captain, the position of honour fell to the sub-captain (T. J, Brookes), while the secretary acted as whipper-in. A distance of about seven miles was covered at an easy pace, there being plenty of fun en route.
To-day the club takes part in the monstre meet, of the Liverpool & District Cross-country Association, which takes place at Wavertree from the Lamb Hotel. Next Saturday there will be a run from headquarters, commencing at 3.30 p.m., when now members will be heartily welcomed.
