A special general meeting of the above club was held on the 18th. inst., at Fairhaven Institute, Liscard, to consider whether the club should remain under the jurisdiction of the A.A.A. or join the N.A.U.
The chair was taken by the President, Mr. F. C. O'Connell, and there was a good attendance of members. Mr. C. E. Pugh, of the National Athletic Union, advised the meeting of the work of that body, while Mr. T. H. Blair and others spoke, with reference to the A.A.A.
After a considerable amount of discussion it was decided , to remain loyal to the Amateur Athletic Association.
Owing to the above decision the members of the club who are in favour of the N.A.U. have decided to form a new club under the rules of the N.A.U. Several influential gentlemen have promised their support, and Mr. F. C. O'Connell has consented to become president. A meeting will be held at an early date to inaugurate the new club, but in the meantime further particulars may be obtained from Mr. H. R. Scoins, 58, Withen's-lane, Liscard.
