The first social run was held last Saturday from Upton. Owing to the state of the weather in the morning not so many turned out as were expected.
The pack numbering 17, started at 4 o'clock in the direction of Woodchurch; Arrowe Park was soon reached, and from there a bee line was made for Thurstaston Hill, the route home, being via. Caldy Hill, Newton, Frankby, and Greasby. On reaching Upton three more members were awaiting the return of the pack and although they were much missed in the run they more than made up for it in the splendid manner in which they tackled the tea. A sing-song finished what proved to be the most enjoyable run of the season up to the present. Today the 5 mile handicap will be held from the Ship Inn, Wallasey when three prizes will be offered. No entrance fee.
