A party of over twenty journeyed to Knowsley Park last Saturday for the West Lancashire championships. Two teams had been entered by Wallasey, both of which ran. In the senior race, however, the team failed to finish.
The junior event, which was held first over a distance of 7½ miles, proved to be most exciting. Lancaster Park, the favourites, did not come up to expectation, Ravenhead (St. Helens) and Warrington dividing the honours for first place, with 85 points each. Wallasey came third with 102 points, and it was only owing to the fact that two of the men proved to be off form that they failed to win. The placings were as follows:- 2, R. Young, 43m. 32 s.; 10, C. H. Spence, 44m. 34s.; 14, A. G. Scions, 44m 48s.; 20, P. Scott; 24, L. D. Baker; 32, E. Ball.
