An inter-club run took place last Saturday between the above club and Liverpool Boundary Harriers at the latter's headquarters, Rice-lane, Walton.
The musters of both clubs were far below the average on account of the prevailing bad weather, especially in the case of the visiting club, whose racing team, with one or two exceptions were unfortunately unavailable. From the very first there seemed to be no doubt as to which would be the victorious team, as Boundary were, individually speaking, very strongly represented, but in spite of this the Wallasey men determined to give a good account of themselves. The mile "break" eventually proved to be a victory for Boundary by the majority of eight points :-
Liverpool Boundary H. Wallasey H.
W. H. Begg 2 A. G. Nicholson 1
W. B. Colquitt 7 C. H. Spence 8
W. F. Pollock 9 J. J. Eivers 13
T. Millington 10 W. G. Lace 14
37 45
S. Plastow and C. H. Spence both, ran exceedingly well, this being the first time either have tested their powers against seasoned runners. They are both new members this season, and are likely to do very well after a little more training.
To-day the club will hold a paper chase from headquarters, Fairhaven Institute, Seaview-road.
